Overview: The Research & Data Specialist will ensure United 4 Children’s (U4C) overall success by effectively and efficiently supporting the Research and Data Analysis Manager across all agency programs. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of data collected, analyzed, and reported regarding agency deliverables and outcomes. A successful candidate will have knowledge of data systems and best practices in handling all duties related to research and data analysis while cross-collaborating among and within departments and providing support to all agency employees related to data collection, analysis, and reporting tasks. This position will have an active role in developing data systems related to deliverables, including technological recommendations and integration within and across data systems. Experience operating database systems and pulling reports is a benefit. The ideal candidate will understand data collection, data analysis, and data reporting.

What You Will Do: 

 Research and Data Analysis (90%) 

General 

  • Assist in maintaining the agency database, including integration among and across data systems, data entry, and data compilation.
  • Pull data reports weekly or monthly according to agency and program needs as some reports are pulled weekly while others are pulled monthly.
  • Compile monthly data review and compilation for reporting purposes.
  • Create agency or program surveys according to funder requests and compile, analyze, and report survey results.
  • Support the Research and Data Analysis Manager with monitoring and ensuring the appropriate use of various database systems and dashboards by agency employees.
  • Monitor reporting benchmarks across all programs to ensure accurate and consistent reporting practices.
  • Assist with the coordination of funding deliverable plans.
  • Conduct fidelity checks on data entries as requested.
  • Assist with completing required agency reports on time and accurately.
  • Conduct designated research tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist with data analysis to inform leadership on best practices for program research and evaluation to assess the effectiveness of program strategies.

 Employee Support

  • Provide support to U4C staff and managers in negotiating various database systems.
  • Assist with developing and implementing training sessions to build agency staff’s skills and capacity to implement best practices when collecting, analyzing, and reporting program data.
  • Provide technical support to staff as needed regarding accurate data entry and reporting in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate follow-up with managers regarding staff data records and reports.

 Administrative and Other Responsibilities (10%) 

  • Provide support to agency staff members while promoting cross-collaboration in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data across data systems.
  • Coordinate other duties assigned by the Research and Data Analysis Manager.
  • Actively participate in required meetings and personal professional development.    
  • Participate in the development of funding proposals.           
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 Skills We Are Looking For 

  • At least 2 years of related data collection and analysis experience (graduate work may be substituted for 1 year).
  • A 4-year degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Psychology, Social Work, Instructional/Educational Leadership, Program Evaluation, Data Science, or a closely related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Understanding of qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Experience in the early childhood education industry is a plus.
  • An effective communicator who can explain how data collection, analysis, and reporting support the broader mission of the organization. 
  • Ability to handle multiple and varying tasks with associated deadlines.
  • Experience with operating database systems is a plus.
  • Collaborate with the Research and Data Analysis Manager to conduct data and report reviews to recognize errors.
  • Detail-oriented with report formatting.
  • Pass a Family Care and Safety Registry Screening.  
  • Authorized to work in the United States.  
  • Ability to retain a minimum of liability vehicle insurance.  
  • Experience and skill working with diverse populations.  
  • Conscientious use of justice, equity, and inclusion lens when working with self and others.  
  • Successful at working in multiple teams simultaneously.  
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and nights.
